So, there is a fun story behind this bike.....one of our best friends from the UK loves to come to whistler and he is an awesome DH rider. He has an awesome girlfriend whom came with him this year. He wanted her to get into DH. They were here for a month and there was no point in hiring a bike for the entire time they were here, because they could buy a bike for almost the same cost! However, my hubby and him are quite the bike snobs, so no, not just any bike would do! It had to be an awesome bike, to match the awesomeness of everything. lol.
We met up with a girl in whistler who gets a new norco bike each year (she is one of the lucky ladies who runs the young kids camps) and since she got a new bike this year, she sold my friend this one. It gets even better, she had her own Marzocchi fork that she really liked, so never used the one that came with the bike, and because she wanted to keep her Marzocchi fork, we got the original forks which were brand new! They are Boxxer Race 2011. Also comes with Saint brakes (this is an upgrade from stock and the best DH brakes IMO) and the grips and seat are in fab condition. Overall, this is just a kick ass bike for the money! As my friend is a beginner, it has been down easy does it probably 50 times and she is now able to ride Bline and ninja cougar. So, to say it has been lightly ridden would be an overstatement! lol.
I'm not sure how much it costs to hire a bike, but I'm sure with taxes and everything, if you use this bike close to 20 times, it's already paid for itself!
So to put it in more succinct terms:
Frame: Small 2011 Norco DH (yes, just one year old!)
Fork: 2011 Boxxer Race (keep in mind, these have actually been ridden less than a month!)
Seat: Cromag jupiter
They have now just gone back to the UK and left the bike with me to sell. It is priced to sell and you won't find a 2011 bike with saint brakes, ready to ride, for a cheaper price. She really loved the bike and would have taken it back with her, but as there are no DH trails near where she lives, she is going to buy an all mountain bike. Guys, if you ever wanted to get your girl into DH, get her a good bike. Hey, if you are looking for a great bike for yourself, that's current and for an awesome price...then look no further! The bike is currently located in north vancouver, but cause my hubby and I love to ride, we are in whistler most weekends and can easily bring the bike with us.
